Matthew was one of many to attend the open day for the Grahame Park One Stop Shop. The event also saw visits by the Mayor of Barnet, service users, staff from Barnet Homes and the Council’s Library Service.
The area of Colindale is changing significantly with the introduction of the new Hendon Village, including new retail and social facilities, as part of Barnet Council's ongoing regeneration to improve this previously neglected part of north west London. This means new challenges for the area and the people who live there that can be helped by the One Stop Shop.
Located on The Concourse at the centre of the estate, representatives from North West London Credit Union, Xpressitfm radio station, Barnet Farsophone Association, Wingfield Children’s Centre and Barnet College all came together at the event to show what local support is available.
Matthew said: “The occasion gave many people and representatives of organisations an opportunity to see what is happening at the One Stop Shop. Visitors could see how the community has come together to help everyone. I myself am keen to hold surgeries in the Centre as it would offer an additional service for local residents.”
