In common with hundreds of other MPs, Matthew paid his respects at the annual Remembrance Day Service on the Watford Way in Hendon. 90 years after the first event was held and 65 years since the end of the Second World War, Matthew later spoke about the sacrifices that are continuing to be made by those serving in the British forces in locations such as Afghanistan.
Accompanied by Cllr Hugh Rayner and Cllr Helena Hart, Matthew also attended the AJEX service at Edgware synagogue to remember Jewish members of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.
