The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an alliance of 15 charities including Oxfam, Save the Children, and the British Red Cross, and coordinates responses to disasters and humanitarian crises around the world.

Every pound donated by the UK public will be matched by the UK government through its Aid Match scheme up to the value of £20million.

Homes for Ukraine scheme

The Homes for Ukraine scheme will allow people seeking sanctuary with no family ties to the UK to be sponsored by individuals or organisations who can offer them a home, such as a spare room or unoccupied residential self-contained unit. The scheme will be uncapped, open to Ukrainian nationals (and immediate family members of Ukrainian nationals). Those arriving through this scheme will be able to live and work in the UK for up to three years and also access benefits, healthcare, and other support. Our aim, through this route, is to offer a safe, warm welcome to as many arrivals as possible, based on the number of sponsors.

Sponsors should provide accommodation for as long as they are able, but we have a minimum expectation of 6 months.
