FAQs

How many people can join the tour?

Tours operated directly by our office can accommodate up to six people. For any more than six, you will have to be booked on an official tour.

How long will the tour last?

Approximately 75 minutes for a partial tour and 90 minutes for a full tour.

What will I see?

A full tour will include Westminster Hall, St. Stephen's Hall, Central Lobby, the House of Commons, House of Lords, Robing Room and Royal Gallery. Partial tours will not include the House of Commons.

Will I need to bring ID?

Visitors do not have to provide photographic ID for access to the parliamentary estate.

Is there security?

You and your belongings will need to go through airport-style security before entering Parliament. The wait time to get through security is up to 30 minutes on average. The queue starts outside the building so dress for the weather.

Is there a gift shop/cafe?

Yes, there is both a gift shop and cafe with access at the end of the tour.

Accessibility

Most of the tour route in the Palace of Westminster is step-free. Some parts of the tour route are narrow. We offer alternative viewing points to visitors who have larger, motorised wheelchairs.
