Attending the Community Fun Day at St Peter's Church at Stonegrove in Edgware, Matthew found himself giving more than a political speech. During the event he went head-to-head with Sgt Dan Reid of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team in a music 'face-off'.

Matthew was pleased to attend the interfaith blood donation, National Seva and Mitzva Day awareness concert at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Golders Green as a guest of Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi His Divine Holiness Purushottampriyadasji.

Spreading democracy, tackling AIDs, Zimbabwe, economic development and blood diamonds were all issues covered by Matthew and a delegation from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association on a visit to Botswana.

Instead of sitting in an office in Westminster, Matthew is spending the summer getting round the constituency of Hendon. One such visit was the Catch 22 and the Barnet Action 4 Youth project in Colindale where Matthew met young people on their summer break.
