Matthew is pleased to confirm that following his representations to the Secretary of State, Michael Gove, and the Education Funding Agency, the Avanti House School will not be moving to a temporary site in The Fairway next to Fairway Primary School.
In September Avanti House School will be moving to the site of the former Peterborough and St Margaret’s private school (PSM) on Common Road, Stanmore.
The Education Funding Agency has agreed terms on the property enabling the school to remain in Harrow. Less than two miles from the school’s current home at the Harrow Teachers’ Centre in Wealdstone and just slightly further from the Krishna-Avanti Primary School on Camrose Avenue, Governors of the school believe the site – which is extremely peaceful and already equipped as a school - to be significantly better than the alternatives which have been considered.
As Avanti House grows, the PSM site will become the permanent home of its primary pupils (from 4-11 years old).
Matthew said: “I am very pleased that parents and the children who attend Avanti House School now have certainty of a school place at the beginning of next term at a location which is welcomed by everyone connected with the school. I am also pleased that the concerns I presented to the Government were accepted and that the residents of The Fairway and neighbouring roads will not have their lives disrupted by the temporary location of another school in their area.”
