Matthew was delighted to welcome Prime Minister David Cameron to Hendon as they visited St. Mary’s and St. John’s CE Primary School. Matthew and the Prime Minister joined pupils in a special morning assembly which was followed by a tour of the school.
On the day that reforms to the national curriculum were announced by Education Secretary Michael Gove, Mr Cameron told pupils that “schools provide the foundation for everything in life”.
Matthew said: “It was a pleasure to have the Prime Minister in Hendon and receive his support for the school’s exciting plans to expand to include a secondary school. The proposals will provide an all-through education for children aged from 3 to 18 years.”
Matthew and David Cameron also dropped in on the infant school’s sports day where parents were given the unexpected opportunity to chat to the Prime Minister.
