Matthew and Claire visited an exhibition of paintings by Sri Lankan artist Prashan Deepthikumara at the Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre. Commemorating Independence Day, attendees viewed the work of Prashan who has painted famous landmarks in Sri Lanka such as the Lion Platform at Sygiria Rock and portraits of the Venerable Galayaye Piyadassi, MBE.
Matthew said, “Prashan’s talent has captured the beauty of Sri Lanka and of its people. It is very inspiring work that certainly makes you want to visit the country to see the landscape for real. I particularly liked the portrait of the Venerable Piyadassi as it produced a great likeness of him. Prashan has a great talent and I urge people to visit the Buddhist Centre to see the works for themselves.”
