Members of the Burnt Oak Nepalese community held their Annual Summer Outing at the Northolt Community Centre over the weekend. Matthew was pleased to attend and took the opportunity to join in the splendid festivities and meet his constituents, many of whom are former Ghurkha solders.
Matthew said: “I am tremendously proud of the contribution Ghurkha soldiers have made to the military history of this country in World War 2, the Falklands, Iraq and latterly Afghanistan. I also pay tribute to the work of Lachhya Gurung and the other members of the Burnt Oak Nepalese community. Whether it has been language classes, seeking a community centre or securing the pension rights of former soldiers, Lachhya has been at the fore-front of helping his friends and neighbours.""
