Matthew met with constituents who took part in The Time Is Now climate change lobby of Parliament. Speaking with several residents he outlined the actions being taken by the Government in addressing this vitally important issue.
This Thank a Teacher Day, Wednesday 19 June, Matthew has paid tribute to teachers across the Hendon constituency, whose hard work means that more children are gaining the education they need to get on in life.
Matthew was honoured to attend the annual service and open day at the Edgware Abbey Anglican Community of St Mary at the Cross in Edgware. This small Benedictine community still lives and prays in a small part of Edgware and are often overlooked by many local people.
Matthew has received reassurance from the High Commissioner of The Republic of Cyprus that, subject to reciprocity, Cyprus will safeguard the rights of British citizens living and working in Cyprus following Brexit.
Matthew took part in the opposition demonstration to the Al Quds Day rally in central London at the weekend. The controversial Al Quds Day rally, held each year, was created by the Iranian government in 1979 to ‘express support for the Palestinian people’ and to oppose the state of Israel.
Matthew pleased to visit the recently rebuilt Gan Menacham Synagogue and nursery in Hendon to see how they are settling into their new home. Having been on a site in Parson Street, it was decided that a relocation would enhance facilities for the community.
