I recently undertook my regular inspection of the North Road Estate along with several residents and officers from Barnet Homes. A number of issues were brought to my attention and I have contacted the Council about the following:

I want to ensure that my constituents receive the best price deal for their gas and electricity.  I am therefore conducting a survey to try and reduce the amount local residents pay their energy supplier.

Headteachers, governors and parents from Jewish primary schools in the constituency have expressed their concern about the Government’s proposals to require primary schools to teach one or more foreign languages from a prescribed list which did not include either Modern or Biblical Hebrew.

The vote on whether the UK should have a referendum on Europe was an important one - but as soon as the Labour Party decided to whip their MPs into opposing it the likelihood of it being passed evaporated. Ironically the Liberal Democrats promised a referendum prior to the last General Election and said that they would campaign in favour of retaining links with the EU. The Labour Party is maintaining its desire to enter the Euro, when the conditions are right.
